Welcome to Waliakbar's "Through the Lens" Series...
Author, photojournalist and historian WaliAkbar Muhammad began releasing a series of “Through the Lens...” digital photo albums during Black History Month; the first entitled “Remembering Imam W.D. Mohammed.”
WaliAkbar began “pulling images through the lenses” (as he likes to call it) of various cameras during the turbulent 1960s in Washington, DC where he was born. He moved to Chicago in 1970 to work for the Original Muhammad Speaks Newspaper.
